Rick Welch,
President & CEO

Mr. Welch is a seasoned travel industry professional, having more than 16 years in the travel industry managing the sales and customer service operations with some of the best-known names in travel such as Cendant, Alamo Rental Car, Travelocity, Marriott Hotels and Resorts, and Certified Vacations.  He joined Rent A Toll as president and chief operations officer in 2006.

The diversity of knowledge Mr. Welch acquired from these varied sectors of the travel industry has given him a unique perspective on how travel is sold and marketed, travelers’ behaviors, industry trends, and operational best practices that are transferable between sectors and represent cross-selling opportunities.

Mr. Welch attended the University of Bridgeport, where he majored in mechanical engineering and minored in business. He studied management and marketing at Lyndon State College and continued his education at the University of Utah, where he studied marketing and economics.

A key focus for Mr. Welch is process design and redesign, which, coupled with his many years in the travel industry, has afforded him the opportunities to be a catalyst for change within the industry.

An avid ice hockey player, coach and fan, Mr. Welch resides in Southlake, Texas with his wife, Maggie, and their three children.  He has coached youth hockey in the Dallas Fort Worth area for three years.

James K. Glasheen – Vice President Sales & National Accounts

Mr. Glasheen has over 25 years in the travel industry with an extensive background in sales management, supplier relations, product development, marketing, and corporate travel. He has been involved in all segments of the travel industry including air, car, tour, cruise, and corporate travel.

Mr. Glasheen attended the State University of New York at Oneonta and graduated with a BA in Psychology. He also attended executive management programs at the University of Virginia, Darden School of Management and Center for Creative Leadership focusing on sales management, change management and executive leadership.

Mr. Glasheen recently joined Rent A Toll from Cendant Travel Distribution Services Division where he served as Director, Airline Supplier Services and provided cost effective distribution solutions for both Online and Global Distribution Systems for the airlines. Prior to this, Mr. Glasheen held senior management positions with Resort Condominiums International Travel, USAirways, Iberia International Airline of Spain and Amtrak.

Sarath Balachandran, PMP
Director of Technology

Mr. Balachandran has over nine years of experience in project management, managing technical teams, and delivering high-quality applications for Verizon, Xerox, McGraw-Hill, Sun Microsystems, and Netscape.

At Verizon Communications, Mr. Balachandran served as technical project lead in the fiber to the premises (FTTP) program, which brings broadband communication capability directly to the user location.  He worked with companies such as Sun Microsystems, Verizon and Saventech to develop solutions for enterprise application integration using the Internet as a platform.

Prior to joining Sun Microsystems, Mr. Balachandran worked in India as a system analyst and project lead.  At Sun, Sarath served as a system architect while he worked in telecom systems, contract management, billing systems, content management systems, digital rights management, and content integration.

Mr. Balachandran is proficient in over a dozen software languages and technical systems. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University and is working on a PhD from Sundaranar University.

Arun Jeyam
Director Information Technology

Mr. Jeyam spearheads product development and provides thought leadership to the executive team in improvising proprietary technology and models.  He oversees technical quality, direction, and architectures in key internal and external projects and maintains a competitive edge by helping to build well-informed teams on best-of-breed technologies.

Prior to joining Rent A Toll, Mr. Jeyam was a senior architecture consultant at Thomson, where he was instrumental in altering the company's IT landscape to realize SOA-based principles. One of his major accomplishments was successfully leading some of the largest and most complex SOA-oriented project within Verizon, which included a multi-million-dollar real-time order fulfillment system for retail customers, a large extranet application, and mentoring a group of technical architects.

Mr. Jeyam is an acknowledged authority on information reuse, distributed computing, architecting scalable software solutions, and next-generation SOA/EDA framework development.  During Mr. Jeyam’s 15-year career in the IT industry, he has served many Fortune 500 companies, including ACS, AT&T, DCW, ICI, Invensys, Microsoft, Thomson and Verizon. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Institute of Road and Transport Technology in India in 1993.

Mr. Jeyam lives in Dallas with his wife, Siva, and two sons, Sean & Andrew.
